the difference in Percy's water healing power in the show vs the movie is actually kind of interesting because while subtle, in the show the water heals his injury and then his blood is washed away, but in the movie you can actually see the water push Percy's blood back inside his body as its healing him... and I cannot believe I'm saying this but I think I like the movie's depiction of this power more because of that???

Ok, so

V1 Eclipse was able to take control over Sun originally because he made Bloodmoon, and Bloodmoon was The Thing that broke through whatever the barrier was that was keeping Eclipse locked away (whenever Eclipse tried touching it, it hurt him, and he needed something that was strong enough to withstand that pain, so it could break it for him. Hence Bloodmoon, being created from an unholy mixture of the killcode/Eclipse's code, and from what I've heard, Sun's code)

In practice, I realize it'd be a horrible horrible god awful idea, but. Maybe V4 Eclipse could just,,, do that, but be extra careful about it

Like.... instead of using Sun's code for any of it this time, Eclipse would have to use a snippet of the Mimic's code, and he'd have to blend it with the killcode that makes up his own code

Mimic + literal homicide code = absolute nightmare fuel, and the actual form of evil incarnate

So what I'm thinking here is,, make a discount Bloodmoon, but put more restrictions in place, and maybe set a timer or remote control of sorts, so the abomination will sort of self-destruct when it's done serving its purpose. With its purpose being to lock Mimic away (even just temporarily), so Eclipse can take over and at least tell Puppet what's been going on, and possibly look into ways to shut down Mimic. Worst comes to worst, Eclipse abandons the body that Mimic is in right now, and has enough time to safely transfer himself into a backup body

I know what I'm suggesting is basically "create a new character and then immediately kill them when their job is done." And I know that is,,, not a very great idea, morally speaking. But this is the part where we have to remember that this isn't real life, and these aren't real people. These are fictional characters. If it was real life, I'd be much more inclined to be as careful and considerate as possible, but no. This is fiction, so I'm allowed to be a little unethical from time to time

imo karlach’s soul coin usage seems like it should have been a little more significant than it was.

she only ever really stops to consider the magnitude of burning through a person’s soul for power during an origin playthrough—otherwise she rationalizes to the player that they’re doomed anyway, and if using them gives her an edge in combat, why not use them for good instead of leaving them to be used by evil? the dialogue with lann tarv in act 2, where he tells the story of each soul he's handing over to her, tries to humanize each soul coin, and still she doesn’t really budge and disapproves pretty heavily if she's told no in regards to using them.

it just seems like something that could have caused some kind of conflict between her and wyll, given he sold his soul to a devil in dire circumstances and takes issue with the player for sleeping with mizora, because she 1) is mizora, and 2) similarly expends tormented souls during her romance scene, even if for a different purpose. but it just... never really comes up?

i love karlach. but that seems like it should have gone Somewhere, from a writing standpoint? karlach values wyll as a person but is willing to use currency forged from souls like his for the sake of a temporary power up. she knows the soul is consumed when she uses them. that whole exchange with lann tarv is there to emphasize that every soul coin she destroys was a person once. but it all kind of loses narrative purpose if this combination of factors doesn't mean anything? karlach doesn't change at all in her willingness to use soul coins, no matter what the player says or how much she cares for wyll.

idk. missed opportunity that wyll doesn't have any dialogue about this, of all things.

like i know its a dead horse but its truly just atrocious how wc background characters work compared to other franchises with a similar character count and even earlier entries in the series. like i think about how po3 genuinely had a compelling secondary cast and i get mad about the future of wc forever. like fuuuck man i dont know who shellfur is i dont care.

just finished watching season 4 of The Umbrella Academy because I finally have time now that I'm on Christmas break, and all I gotta say is bro, they did not have to throw in the Five x Lila subplot lol. Like, nothing would be different if the writers had done everything the same, but deleted the bit where Five and Lila get together. They could have bonded as siblings or friends or whatever while lost in time and just come up with a different reason for Five to storm off in the middle of the fight and blink back into the subway station so he find his alternate self and learn about all the timelines and stuff. Like, the ending would have been exactly the same without it 😭😭

Greys Anatomy has so many great platonic relationships and it's the part of the show that I enjoy the most and gets me to cry the most. I've been thinking so much about Derek and Cristina since, well season 7. That was one heck of a season of them. Like their dynamic of caring for each other because they care for Meredith and in the end they care for each other for real. Derek got married with Meredith and Cristina came with (see how differently Derek treats their relationship in comparison to Burke and fucking. Owen. After a big at least) they're very big brother and little sister to me, especially with their storyline in season 7, but also just in general. They loved each other, they never thought they would actually. Do that. But they did.

Their final scene in season 10 is. So. Good. Because Cristina just kinda says it like she's surprised she's saying goodbye and Derek takes a few seconds to respond because neither can fully wrap their heads around it. And they hug, which is probably the only time we've seen them hug, and they hold hands for a second before Cristina turns around and leaves. And the look Derek gives her is a bit like the one he gave her at their fishing trip. Like there really is something so very big brother, so proud about the way he looks at her and just I love them.

And what really ruins in a good way that scene for me is that (unless something different has been mentioned i haven't watched s11) that was probably, definitely, the last time they saw each other alive, like in person. (They've definitely talked on the phone because Cristina and Meredith have talked on the phone and Derek is always around.) And then the next time she sees him is when she flies in for his funeral. Like yeah okay way to make me cry 10 times more about an already terribly sad scene.

It really is too bad Derek dies after Cristina left because I would've loved to see like her actual whole reaction to it, further than holding Meredith's hand at the funeral.
